Mission
The Union Park Neighborhood Association (UPNA) works to:
-
Preserve and strengthen the quality of the Union Park
neighborhood
-
Promote the area as desirable for both individual and
family living
-
Foster neighborhood fellowship, and
-
Serve as a vehicle by which neighborhood problems are
resolved and neighborhood goals are achieved.
The membership of the UPNA has been working on these four goals since
1987. In 1993 the UPNA
developed and implemented a
neighborhood master plan
through the
City of Des Moines Community Development Department. In 1997
UPNA
became one of Des Moines'
charter neighborhoods and work with
58 other neighborhoods to improve Des Moines.

The Union Park Neighborhood Association is a grass roots
volunteer organization. It is not
a part of city or county government.
Neighborhood volunteers contribute their time,
money and support to the association's activities because they want to see this area continue to
be a great place to live.
Please contact a UPNA Officer if you can contribute to these efforts or have
issues that the association could support.
